We've collected a staggering 14.7 million face videos from 90 different countries. We have tested 80,000 pieces of content, analyzed 8 billion facial frames, and accumulated 18 years' worth of data.
But it's not just about quantity; it's about diversity. Our data reflects the richness of human experiences globally, ensuring that our technology is inclusive and unbiased wherever in the world research is being conducted. To the best of our knowledge, this is the world's largest and most diverse database of human facial reactions and emotions captured in context.

What We Do with the Data
So, what do we do with all this data? We continue our efforts to train our algorithms and develop new features that enable researchers to better understand human emotions and behaviors. In the last few years, we rolled out major updates to our technology within the Affectiva Media Analytics team which improved the accuracy of our face tracker and introduced Confusion & Sentimentality metrics. We've also enhanced our qualitative research solution through our Conversational Valence/Engagement metrics. And most recently we’ve announced our new Attention feature that combines Affectiva’s Emotion AI with Smart Eye’s calibration-less eye tracking technology to provide a robust measurement of viewer attention.
With this data being the foundation of our classifiers and their enhancements, we also actively work to be transparent about how our Emotion AI technology works and the validation behind it. For major updates to our technology, our Science team publishes articles to share our work with everyone in the academic and industry research communities.
